The Details

White Plains Hospital, located in Armonk, NY, is one of Westchester County’s premier outpatient facilities offering a wide variety of patient services. This 25,000 square foot facility offers an Urgent Care Center, Primary Physician Practice, Physical Therapy Center and a full Radiology Department making it a full service center for the many residents of Westchester. This space, once an old warehouse, was transformed into a luxury medical center with many exciting architectural features and high end finishes. GTL Construction was contracted to fit-out this space, teaming up with the many consultants on the White Plains Hospital team. The interior of the old warehouse was completely demolished to give the design team the ability to design the space capturing all elements desired by the hospital staff. The scope of work entailed all new sub slab plumbing, complete new electrical distribution, a state of the art mechanical system with an independent chiller plant for the MRI suite, new sprinkler service, over 140 offices, exam rooms and bathrooms, and an entrance lobby/ corridor called “Main Street”. This area of the facility features custom tile from Italy, high end custom millwork, new storefront with full height glass partitions and an amazing 100 foot long skylight that was cut into the existing roof creating an ambiance that is unmatched. Along with the MRI suite, GTL constructed the infrastructure for a CT scan, X-Ray, Bone Density, Mammography and Ultrasound suites. Being that the hospital wanted to create such a beautiful and elegant interior, GTL was also given the contract to compete the exterior portion of the project. The brick façade of the building was covered completely using a stucco system called EIFS which created a much more attractive appearance. The main entrance to the hospital features a new glass storefront with sliding doors, a new tile patio entry and Alucabond metal paneling giving the look of a sleek and modernized facility. The client spared no expense during construction making the total cost over $7.5 million and in return has created one of the most prestigious medical centers in Westchester.
